After receiving a challenging diagnosis, Meghan Markle gave a very emotional health update public.
In the first episode of her new podcast, Confessions of a Female Founder, the Duchess of Sussex revealed a significant, potentially fatal issue.
Following the discontinuation of her previous series, Archetypes, which ran for 12 episodes on Spotify, she is back to podcasting.
Meghan, who recently declared a “professional split” from Prince Harry, is working on a number of separate ventures, including the new podcast.
Additionally, she relaunched her lifestyle brand, As Ever, which was once known as American Riviera Orchard. Teas, jams, honey, crepe mix, and edible flower sprinkles were among the nine goods in the relaunch line that sold out in an hour.
Despite getting mixed reviews online, her Netflix sitcom With Love, Meghan has been renewed for a second season.
Meghan and Whitney Wolfe Herd, the creator of Bumble, had an open discussion about the difficulties of parenthood and entrepreneurship in the first episode of her new podcast. Meghan shocked the audience by disclosing a personal health issue during this episode.
“Even though we didn’t know each other at the time, we both had very similar experiences,” the duchess told Herd.
Markle went on to discuss the stress of being in the spotlight while dealing with a medical issue.
She remarked, “The world is unaware of what is going on in silence.” “And in the quiet, you’re still trying to be there for people, mainly your kids, but those are serious health issues.”
Both Herd and the 43-year-old have battled postpartum preeclampsia.
This unusual illness, which the founder of Bumble referred to as “life or death,” arises when a woman has high blood pressure and an excess of protein in her urine shortly after giving birth.
Postpartum preeclampsia needs to be treated right away. According to the Mayo Clinic, postpartum preeclampsia can result in seizures and other severe consequences if treatment is not received.
Herd continued by recalling Markle’s initial appearance following the birth of her first child, Archie.
The radio guest remarked, “I will always remember the picture of you after you gave birth to Archie, and everyone was anticipating his arrival.”
“I thought, ‘Oh my God, how is this woman doing this?'” I was either just becoming a mother or about to become one.
“How can this woman put on heels, go out in front of the world, and debut a child in this, you know, gorgeous outfit?” In a robe, I could hardly handle a doorbell delivery of takeout.
