That night after the wedding, Amber changed into something more comfortable and went back to their bedroom. What she saw made her stop in her tracks.
Steve was sitting on the bed with his back to her. He was chatting softly, like if he were talking to someone else.
“I wish you could see this, Stace.” It was a wonderful day. I really want you to come.
He spoke softly and with a lot of emotion. Amber felt afraid and confused.

Steve told Amber that his daughter Stacy and her mother had died in a car crash. Since that awful day, he had only spoken to Stacy a few times, primarily about big things like their wedding. It brought him closer to her.
