The Princess of Wales attended to both the Ladies’ and Men’s Singles Finals during the weekend.
This week, the Princess of Wales and the people in charge of Wimbledon got in trouble when people spotted her break a very important rule.
Over the weekend, Kate Middleton traveled to both the Men’s and Women’s Singles Finals. With her husband, Prince William, and their two oldest kids, Prince George, 11, and Princess Charlotte, 10, she went to the Men’s Singles Final on July 13.
Kate wore a royal blue dress and led her family to their seats. In an exciting encounter, Italy’s Jannik Sinner beat Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz.
People in the UK know that this past weekend was one of the hottest of the year, with temperatures in London hitting an unexpected 32 degrees.
The mother of three wore a gorgeous wicker hat during the match to keep her neck and shoulders cool because the sun was so fierce.
A lot of spectators who watched from home saw that Kate breached a key regulation at Wimbledon by wearing a hat in the stands.
The official website for the annual sports event makes it obvious what to wear.
“The guide says, ‘Protocol—dress smartly, in suits, jackets, and ties.'” “Please don’t wear hats, ladies, because they can block the view of people sitting behind you.”
Kate got a lot of hate on Reddit for breaching the rules and showing off.
One individual stated, “Please don’t wear hats, especially in the royal box, so the people behind you can see.”
Another individual said, “It’s okay when Kate is rude and blocks other people’s view.”
Some others said that Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, didn’t have the same break when she went to the competition in 2018.
That year, the ex-Suits actress went to the Ladies’ Singles Final with Kate. It was the first time they had gone out without their spouses, Princes William and Harry.
Meghan donned a white straw hat with a black band on it, but she held on to it the whole time Angelique Kerber played Serena Williams.
A social media user inquired, “What was the reason they didn’t let Meghan wear a hat?” to show how people think there are double standards. She was unhappy because that family was so messed up.
Someone more uploaded a picture of Kate with the remark, “Do you remember when Meghan couldn’t wear a hat at Wimbledon?”
“Who wore a hat yesterday?”
Someone another said, “Yes, you know that if Kate had worn the hat, people would have praised her for protecting her skin, and people would have criticized Meghan for not setting a good example for sun safety.”
“The goalposts would always move to hurt Meghan.”
A fourth individual said, “I think Kate is making fun of Megan at this point.” I know we shouldn’t have ladies fight with each other. I agree, but there is a line, and I believe Kate has passed it many times.
