Doctors swiftly figured out that the musician had a small heart attack and underwent a heart catheterization to find out how terrible the damage was, according to a post on his official Facebook page.
A few days later, on July 8, the famed artist had heart surgery in a Nashville hospital. It wasn’t too intrusive.
The surgeons later said that the procedure went well, although the patient is still not fully healed.
The singer had to cancel all of his planned shows at his favorite CabaRay Showroom because of health concerns and the time he needed to rehabilitate. Fans have loved him there for years.
All shows that were planned have been called off until July 2025.
Even if the situation is bad, sources suggest that the artist is in stable health and is making steady progress toward getting better.
Fans were pleased to hear the latest good news in a Wednesday night update on social media.
“Ray is out of the ICU and is starting to walk the halls with a nurse’s help as part of his therapy to help him get better after this surgery,” the message states.
