The much-loved blue-haired mum might have made her last appearance
The Simpsons has been showcasing in our TV screens since 35 years now but fans have never been as shocked like they were after the season 36 ending when they find out that Marge is dead.
We have lost many a character of the long running comedy series over the years, especially the owner of the Kwik-E-Mart, Apu Nahasapeemapetilon who has been relegated to non speaking parts in the last eight years following a documentary that raised an intense concern about having the Indian character being performed by a white actor, Hank Azaria.
To all of you who stopped watching the show several years ago, we have lost characters we have seen on a regular basis, Fat Tony and Edna Krabappel to mention two, and poor Ned Flanders was again left a widower, after the previous death of Maude.
Nevertheless, even though The Simpsons is now famous because of its eerily accurate predictions such as the introduction of Donald Trump as president, the Coronavirus pandemic, and the horse meat scandal, maybe even the writers themselves could not have foreseen that we would be this close to bidding farewell to Marge in the 36th season.
In The Simpsons is Marge Dead?
In the latest episode of the program which has already been renewed to the second season officially, we have a glimpse of the love affair between Bart and Lisa and the advancement of the same as they come of age.
Living 35 years in the future, Lisa is a successful businesswoman, at least apparently not the President, as other episodes show, and Bart operates an illegal nursing home.
In the episode, Lisa refers to her mother as late early in the episode and we also get to witness one scene at her funereal. Lisa also finds a lost video by a younger Marge filmed in the rather improbable situation that Marge died before Homer before him.
How and when does Marge die in the Simpsons?
Though her cause of death is not disclosed yet, when she is pictured in heaven, she still looks young. Another theory however, the picture of her funeral makes it possible that it is something like 15 to 20 years in the future on when the show is being filmed but possibly it won t be known until a second (or third or fourth) season of Season of the Witch just how she manages to die.
What happened to Homer Simpson?
One would think that the nuclear plant together with his gruesome diet was obviously not taking its toll yet on the dad even after the numerous times he was wounded and had heart operations, as Marge passes in front of him leaving the donut-loving fool all alone.
It is made known that Homer had been spirited off to Florida by the ‘senior services’ of Springfield yet Bart and Lisa collaborate to free him so they can watch one more episode of Itchy and Scratchy together.
And there is the funny part where they are implying that Marge has caught herself a new match in heaven with the narrator of Thomas the tank engine Ringo Starr, who was again the vocal in a very good band I should think.
