My older sister is the only one I have. We had a deep relationship and had loved one another since we were young. As a result, her death still makes my heart hurt.
Less than a month had elapsed since my sister became a mother when she unexpectedly died without saying farewell to her child.
My sister used to be content with her small family despite having a difficult life. Before giving birth, she was married for two years. Because he constantly loved and cared for my sister, she and her husband led a very happy life.
My brother-in-law was like a lost soul for a few days after he found out about his wife’s death.
Everyone was depressed and upset since he was by alone with his newborn, who was begging for milk.
However, I received shocking news concerning my brother-in-law’s life today, less than a month after my sister’s death.
I was informed by my sister’s neighbours that they spotted an odd woman enter my sister’s house every night. As though she were the home’s owner, that woman even prepared meals and engaged in play with the newborn.
As soon as I heard that, I became furious and disappointed in my sister’s husband.
The neighbours told me that they were not incorrect because this happened often over a period of days rather than just once.
I therefore made the decision to learn the truth. I wanted to catch my brother-in-law red-handed before having an honest conversation with him.
My sister had died less than a month before; how could a good brother-in-law who had always loved her become a cold-hearted man?
I considered taking custody of my sister’s child if my brother-in-law truly had a new life like that. I couldn’t abandon the child to a father like him.
In order to sneak over and watch what was happening at night, I made the decision to hire a motel close to my brother-in-law’s house.
I went to my brother-in-law’s house at about nine o’clock and watched from a distance. Indeed, there was an odd woman living with my sister. I rushed straight over and knocked on the door to find out who that woman was since I was both outraged and heartbroken.
I spotted the back of the woman who resembled my sister as soon as I opened the door.
This was due to the fact that “she” had shoulder-length hair similar to the one my sister was wearing in the kitchen and was dressed in the same outfit that she frequently wore. I was momentarily taken aback. That person turned when he heard my voice. When I saw her face, I was shocked.
My sister wasn’t the one. She wasn’t an odd woman either. It was the face of my brother-in-law.
I stumbled, unable to come up with a coherent sentence, and my brother-in-law appeared embarrassed. I enquired:
You…how are you dressed?
After a moment of surprise, my brother-in-law nodded as if he had finally grasped the situation. He stated:
“My tiny kid was wailing for his mom’s milk all the time. In order for him to sleep soundly, I had to dress like his mother and put on a wig to make him look like her.
Naturally, I started crying when I heard him say that, and I started crying for my brother-in-law and my sister’s family. Either today or in the past, he was a genuinely good man.
All of a sudden, I felt too much to question and think negatively about him. My sister passed away too soon, and everyone felt sad for her, but my brother-in-law was maybe the most pathetic. He had to care for his son by himself while still reeling over the loss of his wife.
I now wish to assist him even more in caring for the infant. I make an effort to visit his residence in my spare time to assist him with cooking and babysitting.
Life is never simple. I think my sister will always be proud to have a husband who loved her so much, even though she is no longer with us. Such a man is hard to come by in this world.
