Sometimes the most surprising things happen in real life—things you would only expect to see in television shows or films. But for these twelve people, the drama was too real. Each story in this book illustrates how strange and unpredictable life can be, from shocking discoveries to unanticipated events.
Story 1: I met a woman in college when I was around 19. In summary, we promptly moved in together, sharing a bedroom, a checking account, and everything else. She moved out without notifying me while I was at work, shortly after our first anniversary.
About a month later, I learnt that she had moved out after getting married to her long-term partner of five years. The older woman I met could have been an actor playing her mother because she had never heard of me. I was perplexed by it for years. © Reddit / rearwindows
Story 2: Just so you know, I met a girl named Jacqueline, who happens to be my mother’s name, shortly after I graduated from high school. The same mid-sized city is where we were both born and reared. Beyond the obvious, I didn’t give it much thought. “Oh, that’s a completely coincidental happenstance!”
She and I start dating after two or three months. When I meet her parents, her father “swears” that he has seen me before. When I went to see Jacqueline at work a few weeks later, I was told, “So, I know why my dad thinks you look familiar.” He named his daughter after your mother, whom he dated in high school. © Reddit/FabricateReality

Narrative 4:
I discovered that my parents were still together. He didn’t exist. After learning she was expecting, she changed her name, purchased a wedding band, and announced her marriage to her family.
Every time she visited my grandparents, she made up reasons why her husband couldn’t be present to greet them. My grandfather warned her not to wear the ring in his home ever again during the third visit. © Reddit/Unknown author

Narrative 6:
I discovered that the grandfather I believed had passed away was actually my biological grandfather’s brother. After divorcing her first husband, my nanna remarried his brother. My brain was messed up for a long time! © Reddit/CalShy
Story 7: My mother unexpectedly visits my grandmother’s home. For a few years, they have been apart. My grandmother is 75 years old, and my mother is 57.
My grandmother says she’s getting ready for work and doesn’t want to talk. She advises calling if she needs to talk. My mother then yells at my grandmother before getting into her car and driving off. Her father is not her father, according to a paternity test. © Reddit/JEC2eec

Story 9: It’s shocking enough that I just learnt that my husband of eleven years has a girlfriend. However, the plot becomes more complex. His new lover is the stepdaughter of his best buddy and is 13 years younger than him.

Narrative 10:
My mother and I got up one night when we were living in central California so she could drive me to work at three in the morning.
At precisely the same moment, we both turn to look to our right at a red light. The moon has grown by around 200 times since we last saw it. It almost beyond explanation, because it appeared to be perched on the edge of the planet. I’ve never met anyone else who has seen it or anything like, for whatever reason. © Reddit/believeandachieve33
Narrative 11:
Stroy 12: I went on a date with my crush. Everything was OK until she received a call. She turned pale and apologised. I will return immediately.
It was thirty minutes later. She never came back. The waitress snarled, “You must go, sir.” Right now. Before I heard sirens, I believed I had been ghosted.
When I saw my date in an ambulance, I froze. In a hurry, I rushed over and enquired about the situation. As it turned out, she had fallen after becoming quite lightheaded. She was doing better now after receiving medication, according to a paramedic, but they urged her to be stress-free.
With a feeble smile, she reassured me that she was OK and that I shouldn’t be concerned. She continued by explaining that she suffers from a medical ailment that makes her feel lightheaded when she is under a lot of stress. She received a call from her employer during our date, informing her that she had committed a grave error and would be let go. She was overcome by the shock.
I made sure she was okay and gave her a hug. I took her home once she was allowed to go. After that, we continued dating for a bit.
