In 1993, while acting together on Broadway in Anna Christie, these two celebrities fell in love. Even though one of them was married at the time, they still had a connection.
Her marriage ultimately failed, and in 1994 she wed the actor. They are parents of two children.

To honour his mother, Micheál also changed his last name to Richardson after many years.
“It was a way to carry my mother with me and a tribute to her,” he told The Times.
He was inspired to remark, “It was a lovely gesture,” which much pleased his father. Natasha’s mother and sisters saw great significance in it. “I’m pleased with it.”
Neeson took solace in the knowledge that Micheál’s name and work continue to honour Natasha’s legacy, and he was pleased with his son’s decision.
Since then, Micheál has established himself in the acting industry. With strong performances consistent with his family’s tradition, he has collaborated with his father on a number of films, including Cold Pursuit and Made in Italy. He holds his mother’s memory in high regard.
