Dave Edmunds, a rock star from the 1970s, is in the hospital in critical condition after having a massive heart attack.
The 81-year-old singer, who became famous for his Christmas song “I Hear You Knocking” in 1970, is now in critical care.
The heart attack hurt his brain, and his condition is really bad.
His wife, Cici, posted the sad news on Facebook on Tuesday.
She talked of the terrible time when her husband “died in my arms” and then was brought back to life by doctors.
Cici stated it happened at their home in Rockfield, Monmouthshire. She said she did everything she could to keep him alive, even clearing his airways.
Then a nurse began CPR on Dave.
Cici said she kept going even after the nurse eventually declared he had died.
Then, Cici said, physicians were able to bring Dave back to life, which she called a “miracle.”
They took him to the hospital and put a tube in his throat, but he is still in bad shape.
Cici went on to say that Dave’s memory loss and brain damage are clear.
There is a very high chance that he will have another heart attack.
Cici talked about how the event affected her and said, “I’m still in shock, and I think I have PTSD from what happened.”
She begged people to pray and think about Dave, whom she called her “brilliant, talented, funny, and special” husband.
Cici thanked everyone for their support at the end of her touching speech and concluded, “Dave has a very long road ahead of him—if he survives.”
Yes, we both do.
But knowing that there are nice people like you out there makes this very hard path a little easier.
Thanks a lot, everyone.
I send love and light.
A lot of individuals who saw her message said they were praying for Dave and supporting him.
