The catastrophic flash floods in Texas have killed more than 100 people. An investigation will look at what really transpired and why they weren’t told.
But for now, Texas officials are blaming President Donald Trump for the disaster since 600 people from the National Weather Service lost their jobs or retired earlier this year. The White House has finally answered what they call a “depraved lie.”
The awful flash flood in Texas has killed more than 100 people. At least 104 people have died and many more are still missing after the floodwaters hit the Texas Hill Country. Rescue efforts are going on all along the Guadalupe River, which rose 26 feet in just 45 minutes on Friday.
There are 27 kids and adults from the Christian girls’ camp Camp Mystic living in the area. On Monday morning, Kerr County Sheriff Larry Leitha said that 10 campers and one counselor are still missing.
We are so sorry for the families who are going throughcoop through this terrible event. The camp’s website added, “We are praying for them all the time.” They added said they are still seeking for the “missing girls” and are in touch with the authorities in the area.
“We ask that you keep praying for us and give our families the space and respect they need.” The last thing the message said was, “May the Lord continue to wrap His presence around all of us.”
The floods in Texas is Donald Trump’s fault, according to officials there.
The governor of Texas, Greg Abbott, claimed that the devastation at Camp Mystic was “nothing short of horrific.” He went there on the weekend.
Abbott said about X, “It and the river next to it were destroyed in ways I’ve never seen in a natural disaster.” The water that was rushing scared me since it reached the tops of the cabins. “We won’t stop looking until we find every girl who was in those cabins.”
Some people are wondering if lives could have been saved when the Guadalupe River turned into a deadly flash flood in less than an hour. The New York Times adds that Texas officials have indicated that the National Weather Service (NWS) didn’t send emergency services enough warnings about the rain. This could be why so many people didn’t get the warning in time.
Donald Trump is to blame for not filling “crucial” jobs at the local NWS offices. The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) cut costs early this year, this is why. The New York Times also reported that city officials hadn’t put in better warning systems because they were too pricey.
Donald Trump was asked in a brief interview at a New Jersey airport if he would look into if cuts to the federal government left unfilled posts at the National Weather Service or in emergency coordination.
“They didn’t.” If you look at it, I’ll tell you how bad it all is. It was actually Biden’s plan, not ours. But I wouldn’t blame Biden either. “This is a 100-year disaster, and it’s just so awful to watch,” said Donald Trump.
Karoline Leavitt says it’s a “depraved lie” to say that Trump is to responsible for the flooding in Texas.
The White House has finally responded to claims that they are blaming Donald Trump. “It is a sick lie to blame President Trump for these floods,” said Karoline Leavitt, the White House press secretary. “It does not help us in this time of mourning.”
She said, “That [the floods] was a sign from God.” The deluge happened when it did, but the government didn’t make it happen. The National Weather Service did its duty by giving early and regular warnings.
On Sunday, President Donald Trump declared Kerr County a major disaster area. He informed reporters on Monday that he plans to go to Texas on Friday, but it’s not clear where he will go.
Trump said, “That was a horrible thing that happened.” “Something that came out of nowhere late at night hurt Texas so badly.”
We are thinking about and praying for everyone who was affected by the tragic floods in Texas.
