To destroy Iran#s top-secret Fordow nuclear facility, Donald Trump sent out twelve huge 30,000-pound so-called bunker buster bombs to take out the Iranian facility completely.
An additional two nuclear-related sites in Iran were also eliminated through launching 30 Tomahawk missiles that are capable of hitting a target 400 miles away by American submarines.
The information was first published by Sean Hannity of Fox News who interviewed the president soon before the strikes.
Hannity added, their officials in Trump had informed him that Fordow was gone.
A U.S. military official subsequently confirmed the limit of the destructive bombing operation, inferring that Fordow had been removed out of the table.
It had also suggested that the location could be destroyed using only two of the bunker busters.
A dozen B-2 stealth bombs were used to deliver the bunker busters.
Israel said that they had already crippled the Iran air defences and they had already destroyed some of the installations of the Iranian nuclear activities.
Nevertheless, Israel has asked Trump to give it the GBU-57 Massive Ordnance Penetrator (MOP), an American bomb that has the capability of destroying bunkers to target the Fordow nuclear fuel enrichment plant.
The device penetrates well into deep buried objects through its weight and kinetic energy and then it blows up.
It has to be delivered by the B-2 stealth bomber that is unique to the American arsenal.
It was the initial time in the history that the bomb was used in the war.
Air force of the U.S. asserts to be precision guided and designed to hit tunnels and reinforced bunkers with deep burial.
It has the capacity to travel 200 feet or some in the deep before it explodes as per military experts.
As each successive detonation occurs in the bombs it is possible to drop the bombs one at a time in a sense, boring deeper and deeper into the earth.
The stealth bombers B-2 departed at the Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri in the morning hours of Saturday and flew around 37 hours with no stop overs and refuelled several times.
B-2 is manufactured by Northrop Grumman and can carry nuclear arms, but only the Air Force can operate it.
As it costs more than 1 billion dollars per every aircraft, the U.S. army rarely employs it in battles. It was used first during the Kosovo War in 1999.
The strategic heavy bomber can have an ability to reach any point in the globe within few hours and its range is about 7,000 miles without refuelling, 11,500 miles with one refuelling.
The war aircraft was used by the military in October last year to battle with the Houthi rebels in Yemen and their underground bunkers before the raid in Iran. It has also airdropped bombs in Libya, Iraq and Afghanistan.
It is not clear what types of bombs were dropped by Trump immediately. The Pentagon and the White House failed to give further details of the operation immediately.
In case the American joined Israeli attack, Iran has threatened to hit back.
Trump had previously stated that within two weeks he would determine whether he should bomb Fordow or not.
Speaking on Wednesday, the supreme leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei warned the United States that any actions of precision bombing on Iran would give the United States damages that they would never repay.
Esmail Baghaei, the spokesman of the Iranian Foreign Ministry said that any American intervention would mean a spill-in an all-out war in the region.
Trump has insisted to build a barricade against Iran getting nuclear weapons.
His initial expectations had been that the government of the country would be willing to abandon its nuclear program without much ado under the influence of a threat of force.
