There were many celebrities, as well as other people, who said they would leave the United States if Trump became president. Rosie O’Donnell confirmed she would never run and appears to be keeping to that decision.
Last week, Rosie O’Donnell mentioned relocating and then posted a video to TikTok on Tuesday. She tells viewers she was already in Ireland by January 15, along with her 12-year-old daughter Dakota.
“I’ve had a great time and I must say it’s been lovely,” she told me. The locals are all so warm and friendly to everyone. I feel mostly grateful.
Right now, the veteran comedian is trying to secure Irish citizenship. She may be able to go because her grandparents were born there.
What I thought was best for our family was to move to a foreign country, that’s why I made my decision. All of a sudden, we are here.
She added: “You know, I’m truly happy with my life.” Everything is going well for Clay. I’m missing my other children. I am really missing my friends. I miss a lot about my homeland and am trying to make a home here in this country and if one day all Americans are safe and equal, that’s when we will return home.”
O’Donnell explained how she was upset by the way Donald Trump ran his first term as president. She stated that the experience was both difficult personally and truly sad.
Since she has moved to Dublin, she mentioned that everyone she meets is very ‘friendly’ and she has been in touch with local people. She stated that she likes her new life and also expressed regret for those who didn’t see her go.
At the end of the video, she shared: “I feel pretty happy these days.” She is in a good mood. I am thinking of my other kids today. I’m missing my friends. There are lots of things I miss about life back home and until all people in America can enjoy equal rights, I won’t think about going back.
I consider how every person in this beautiful country is doing every day. And I expect we can fix this by you doing the right thing. I think if we’re honest with ourselves, we know exactly what that is.
