A Mississippi high school teacher is being investigated for allegedly acting inappropriately with a kid in DeSoto County.
Natalia Wright, 31, a special education teacher at Lewisburg High School in the 2024–2025 academic year, is charged by the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office of making inappropriate physical contact with a kid who was younger than 18.
According to authorities, Wright was the student’s tutor in addition to being their teacher at the time of the alleged instances.
According to a sworn document, Wright’s husband allegedly obtained audio and video recordings in which Wright confessed to kissing the pupil multiple times while tutoring.
Other witnesses reported that on April 21, they witnessed Wright and the student kissing and engaging in other intimate activities at various locations. These included the grounds of Longview Point Baptist Church and a Taco Bell parking lot.
On April 3, Wright resigned from her position at Lewisburg High School. According to documentation from the school system, the resignation was related to inappropriate interaction with a kid, which included repeated instances of physical contact, direct conversation, and carrying the student in her own car.
She was taken into custody on May 12 and is accused of “fondling by a person in a position of trust,” which is a felony in Mississippi.
As the case progresses, Wright is expected to appear in court on June 6 and is now free on a $200,000 bail. As the case progresses, authorities are still looking into it.
