A transgender woman says she was denied medical care for a body part she did not have, claiming she was discriminated by a gynaecologist.
Now litigation has turned the matter serious and the world is divided in opinion.
Jessica Simpson, a Canadian transgender activist, is now known as Jessica Yaniv, and drew huge outrage in 2018 when she began filing a swarm of human rights complaints against beauticians who refused to manicure her man parts.
Simpson, who wanted a Brazilian, a woman’s pubic region removal that aims to remove all or part of the hair, chose John Matthews as his stylist for the job. A ‘brozilian’ or ‘manzilian’ is the same kind of technique, involving a penis or scrotum, and estheticians are trained on each.
But now, 37, Simpson still has her male genitalia and it didn’t deter her from suing for up to $15,000 in damages against five independent beauty workers for allegedly rejecting her, failing to give her a wax.
According to the Langley, British Columbia resident, none of these providers had any issue with anything, until I said that I was transgender,’ the Telegraph reports.’
Simpson vs. beauticians
The trans woman lost the country’s landmark discrimination suit in 2019 and was ordered to pay the $2,000 damages per each of the three respondents that testified in the hearings.
The court also found that she exhibited ‘animus’ toward some racial, religious and cultural groups.
However, the workers that testified were home based estheticians, minorities who worked from their own homes, little English speakers who found themselves unable to continue in the business upon the accusations of Simpson.
They were not trained nor equipped in dealing with male anatomy when the women performed Brazilian waxing services on their female clients.
And when a reporter at the Calgary Herald asks if she felt bad the businesses closed because of her?” “No, why should I feel bad?” But the one who was the victim was me. My view, all should receive the same service that any woman should,” he said.
Simpson vs. fire department
For the next few years, the ‘activist’ (also described as a ‘prolific litigant’ by one BC Supreme Court Justice) complained against beauty pageants, the RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police) provincial health, and local news network.

In February 2021, the Langley Fire Department warned Simpson after he reportedly had made more than 30 calls to have the bath door unlocked in order to leave.
The letter to Simpson explained that since January 21, the Fire Department has received and responded to more than 30 such calls for assistance and none of them were medical emergencies.
We further understand that during the attendance of the Fire Department at your home, such inappropriate and lewd behavior has been exhibited towards the members of the Fire Department.”
‘This behavior has given rise, among other things to an inappropriate and dangerous environment for Fire Department staff.’ “While the Township finds that not acceptable and will not tolerate it in the future,” it is stated.
When challenged about the post by The Western Standard, she replied: “I’ll be suing the township for libel and other things.”
Simpson vs. gynecologist
Despite numerous charges, including having a banned weapon, mischief, assault and using sexualized language in communications with underage girls, Simpson, said to have been racist several times, seems to be boosted by the public’s attention.
She last decided to go after a gynecologist’s office that allegedly refused to serve transgender patients.
Simpson said in a now deleted Instagram post that she was “shocked.. and confused… and hurt” about the story.
What, legally, are they allowed to do that? At the least, isn’t that against the college practices,” she tweeted, tagging the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC), the group that regulates medicine in the province.
She then told her followers: “Gynaecologists are part of the multidisciplinary team who work with transgender and non‐binary patients through the transition phase, either whilst they perform surgery or working before or post surgery in relation to patients’ gynaecological issues.”
Though she claimed later it was decided by the CPSBC she was discriminated against, there has been no update since she launched the complaint in 2019.
What people are saying
“Changing your sex to female does not mean you are female by getting plastic surgery and taking artificial hormones.” That does not mean all OBGYN’s would automatically be qualified to treat a man who’s pretending to be a woman,” said Kirralie Smith from Binary, a group that “works to push against harmful gender theory with its aggressive ideological agenda attached to it.”
“[Simpson] has to consult with a transgender specialist not a woman’s health care specialist,” Smith continued.
Other world’s funniest and most controversial comedian also commented on Simpson’s claim, which is; “disgusting that a qualified gynaecologist can refuse to check a lady’s cock for ovarian cancer.” What if her bollocks are pregnant? She could lose the baby. I’m outraged,” he tweeted.
So after I did the joke, but before I dressed up as something weird and creepy for my Halloween party, I was going to break the trend this year and go as brave female activist Jessica Yaniv, Gervais later shared on X. It also means that I no longer need to wax my big old hairy balls.”
Trans healthcare
Medical professionals are now speaking out more and more about the very critical differences between natal female anatomy and, so to speak, structurally different neo-vaginas, otherwise known as vaginas made via gender-affirming surgery, especially when it comes to routine healthcare.

Experts say what’s important is that “If you have a cervix, vagina, uterus or ovaries or fallopian tubes, then you need regular gynecologic care, it’s whoever you’re,’” regardless of gender.”
In other words, biological women or trans men do not require the same medical care as a person assigned male at birth.
An article titled The Importance of Transgender Gynecology explains that as long as a trans woman is not in the process of having “reconstructive genital surgery” such as “surgical creation of a gender-confirming penis” or “providing Medicaid coverage of the costs associated with ‘vaginoplasty’,” she does not “need gynecological care for her new vulva and vagina.”
Simpson had all her male body parts at that time.
This has nothing to do with discrimination; it’s about clinical safety and competence.
