Bill Medley and Bobby Hatfield made up the Righteous Brothers, a musical group that crossed all boundaries. Their soulful music gained over young people, pop lovers, and the Black community.
In the video below, we see a superb live performance of their big hit “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin'” on an American TV show in 1965, when they were at the top of their game. The video quality has gotten worse over time, but the sound is still crisp, which shows off their great singing. These two really could sing well! After watching this, it’s easy to see why they became renowned.

Bill Medley, the singer on the left, has a strong voice that keeps the audience’s attention. Bobby Hatfield, his partner, is the right person for him. They combine force and emotion in a way that keeps the crowd fascinated.
They wear nice clothes and have slicked-back hair, yet their performance has a raw energy that fills the room. The crowd goes wild for a good reason. Barry Mann, Phil Spector, and Cynthia Weil wrote “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin’,” and Spector produced it. It was a great hit in 1965 and then came back in 1986 when it was included in Top Gun.
A lot of musicians, such Cilla Black, Dionne Warwick, and Hall & Oates, have done versions of the song, but the original is still the finest. The music has really lasted over time. A YouTube user who is feeling nostalgic adds, “It was released 50 years ago today and is still as fresh and vibrant as it was then.” This song is a true classic that will never go out of style. That song sounded so good on my little turquoise radio back then!
Enjoy this classic performance for a bit and tell your friends about it. Let the music take you and them back to better times!
