A family spokesperson claimed that he died on September 20 at his property in Skull Valley, Arizona, after a long illness. Pamela K. Smith, his third wife, was there with him.
Will, Brian, Ana, and Caitlin Ann are Pamela and Jim’s four kids. They are still alive.
Jim did what his father did and made his own way in Hollywood.
He portrayed a mechanic in the 1958 classic movie Thunder Road, which was initially designed for Elvis Presley. He shared the screen with his father’s character’s younger brother.
That first job made him adore cars for the rest of his life. He also worked on Elvis Presley’s hot rods and became pals with the King.
