The 79-year-old president, who was wearing his red MAGA hat, brushed aside rumors as he and his grandkids headed to his golf club in Virginia.
Donald Trump, who is usually a powerful and persistent presence in national politics, was gone for a few days, which led to strange claims on the internet that he had died.
At 8:45 a.m. on August 30, 2025, people saw the 79-year-old president for the first time. He came back into the public eye sporting his trademark red “Make America Great Again” hat, smart black slacks, and a white polo shirt.
He was with his grandson Spencer Frederick Trump and his teenage granddaughter Kai Trump. They were put in a car that was waiting for them and would transport them to Sterling, Virginia, where his favorite golf club located.
Earlier this week, the White House posted a blank Labor Day weekend calendar with no public events on it. This made some start to worry about Trump’s health.
After witnessing the president at a cabinet meeting on Tuesday, several individuals on the internet speculated about his health and whether or not he was still alive.
One commenter on the internet commented, “We didn’t see our last president for days at a time.” Why jump to conclusions after just a few days? once Trump was back in the public eye.
Some folks weren’t as open-minded; one person joked, “It’s his clone lol.” “Dude, that’s not even him!” someone else said. Someone else on the internet poked fun of the president’s well-known branded apparel by asking, “Does he have clothes that don’t have his name on them?”
People online asked why Trump chose to put his name on his clothes. Some people joked that it was there in case he forgot who he was. Some people felt he looked ill and even said he looked like a character from “Weekend at Bernie’s.”
People also noticed that the president didn’t appear to care about having his famed haircut anymore. Some people assumed this was a sign that he was getting elderly or unwell. Others, though, completely ignored the trend, believing that the president’s frequent golf outings showed that he was doing well.
Vice President JD Vance said he was ready to lead if he had to and defended Trump’s health in public while rumors were spreading online. In an interview with USA TODAY on August 27, Vance spoke up for his troubled commander-in-chief. He also brought up the worry that still lingers: what if something bad happens?
“The president is in great shape. Vance noted that Trump regularly worked harder than staff people who were decades younger than him. He said, “He’s got incredible energy.”
“He calls last at night and first in the morning,” he said.
Vance recognized that age and risk were bad things, but he was sure that Trump was still able to serve. The senator from Ohio who became vice president talked about the “what ifs” that detractors have been talking about in a very honest way.
“Yes, bad things do happen. “But I am sure that the president of the United States is doing well, will serve out the rest of his term, and will do great things for the American people,” he stated with confidence.
Vance also said that he thought he would be terrible at the job. The 40-year-old vice president looked serious about his responsibilities barely 200 days into his historic post. He went on, “And if, God forbid, there is a terrible tragedy, I can’t think of better on-the-job training than what I’ve gotten over the last 200 days.”
There have been talks about Trump’s health before. He has been in the news a lot lately since pictures from a recent press conference seemed to show makeup on his hand. People are more interested in and guessing about his health now that this has happened.
During a meeting in the Oval Office, Trump’s right hand was obviously covered in a patch of lighter-colored foundation. He tried to hide his makeup by folding his left hand over his right, but it was still obvious when he stood up to welcome FIFA President Gianni Infantino, who had just returned from Italy.
When pictures of the tragedy spread swiftly on the internet, people started to raise questions right once. People on the internet saw that the person looked like they were wearing makeup. Someone said, “It looks like makeup.” Someone else said, “It’s base makeup.” It was probably put on top of a bruise. What is the point?
Some people mentioned they didn’t like the app as much. Someone wrote, “The big glob of discolored foundation on President Donald Trump’s hand today makes me wonder if they are even trying to blend it right.”
People began to worry about their health soon after. Can someone please explain the patch on Donald Trump’s hand? Someone on the internet said, “Looks weird.” “Look at how he hides the bruises on his right hand with his left,” commented someone else.
People were worried about Trump’s health when they reacted more harshly. One commentator said, “This man is having a hard time.” “Hands that are bruised.” Some people thought that there might be further problems.
Someone asked, “What happened to Trump’s hand?” “Is there something wrong with his left hand?” asked another. The fingers look puffy and are all the same length.
People are already looking at Trump’s hands. When they saw him in July with swollen legs and what looked like bruises on his hand, they were anxious about his health.
Karoline Leavitt was the White House Press Secretary at the time. She talked about the worries in a briefing and talked about a medical review by the White House Medical Unit.
Captain Sean Barbabella, Trump’s doctor, said that the 79-year-old Trump had a “full examination, including diagnostic vascular studies.” The assessment showed that the client had chronic venous insufficiency. The letter noted that this disease is “benign and common, especially in people over 70.”
Reports suggest that Trump’s lower legs were “mildly swollen” for a few weeks before the tests were asked for. Leavitt stated, “It’s important to note that there was no sign of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or arterial disease,” referring to what the doctor found. The lab results were likewise “within normal limits.”
Barbabella stated that Trump’s echocardiography and vascular testing showed no evidence of systemic disease, kidney difficulties, or heart failure. Even though he promised to do these things, the most recent pictures have sparked a new public debate about Trump’s health and looks.
As we noted previously, Trump got to the roof of the White House in an unusual method. He is said to have crossed the roof on August 5, 2025, wearing a red tie, white shirt, and dark suit, with security officers close behind.
People who use social media responded right away to the shocking scene. Someone said, “Maybe he got lost?” Some folks made funny comments. Someone said, “It looks like the nurses weren’t watching him for a minute.”
Another person said, “Lol, he has to climb on top of the White House to feel powerful and important lol [sic].” Someone else said, “This is making me laugh.”
People kept replying on the web. “Not his house!” shouted another. Someone else watching said, “He acts like he owns the place.” Not his, but “the People’s House!” “I can’t believe the secret service [sic] let him up there 🤡🤣🎯🎯🎯,” added another viewer.
Some people gave a more positive view between the jokes. Someone said, “The president needs a makeover?” I’m excited to see how it looks now! 🥳 “Honestly, it’s great to see a president who gets things done,” said another participant. The White House could use some work, much like our country. Let’s finish it.
While Trump was on the roof, reporters yelled at him from the ground. “Mr. President, what are you doing up there?” someone yelled. That’s what ABC News says. “Just going for a walk,” Trump answered.
When someone asked him what he was creating, he said, “It goes with the ballroom, which is on the other side.” He waved his hands around and said, “Something nice.”
