The first time I planned my kitchen I had all the intentions of having everything in the counter. It sounded good then, which is convenient to my necessities, right? However, with the course of time, I found out that my counters were in a terrible mess, and what was even more horrible, I was ruining foods and making extraneous messes. 1. Do not keep bread on kitchen counter tops
Bread can appear to be a natural place on the counter, which is a wrong decision. When left to the open air, bread dries quicker or depending on the humidity it may mold within a short period of time. The solution? Place it in a bread box or the fridge.
2. Knives on the Kitchen Counter Tops
Having my knife block on the counter is not only wasteful of space but are not always as clean either. With time, the crumbs and grease might balloon up on the slots. Unrather look at magnetic knife strips on a wall or a drawer insert to keep your knives safe and out of counter.
3. Toasters, microwaves and so on which you hardly ever use
Oh toasters, oh blenders, oh air fryers! And unless you really use these on a daily basis, make sure you do not have them sterling out in your countertop. They can be put away in a cabinet and immediately your kitchen will be tidier. I would reserve space on the counter to put my coffee maker since it is used every day, the rest wastes away.
4. Perishable fruits and Vegetables
A lot of vegetables as well as fruits go bad quicker at temperatures of room level. Unless you clean bowls and pet food containers frequently, they will litter your place and invite pests. Look at the possibility of keeping their kibble in an air-tight container in the pantry, and bowls on a placemat in a specific area.
9. Clear Prepacks of Coffee Pods or Coffee Beans
I have gained a following of people who made displays of my beans and pods in adorable glass jars. The point is that light and air will destroy the freshness in coffee. With the beans, keep these in opaque, airtight container and with the pods, keep them at a drawer or cabinet.
10. Cookbooks Do Not Belong in Countertops
When I cook, I love using cookbooks and flipping through them, although I do not have room in my counter to leave them there and might cause accidents with drips or splats. An alternative that does not imply the 99.9 per cent? Keep them in the store on a next shelf or even on a drawer. When you have frequently used recipes, put a piece of picture or utilize a tablet to save space on the counter.
