In life we are sometimes placed on the spot and sometimes worse than certain people but the bottom line of it all is it is about overcoming obstacles. It is love, power, and the strength that radiates even to the darkest of hours. It is all about a small girl Brenna and parents who supported her not because it was simple, but because love does not have any boundaries.
Brenna was born and did not look like other babies. Her skin was not the same, her looks were characteristic of a rare genetic defect which distinguished her. To some this would be too much. In a world that at times fight to accept what they do not understand, the parents find it sad to turn their backs.
Some of the sickening stories include children being thrown on the street just because of their appearance or whatever they may have inadequacies in. However, Brenna parents did not follow this path rather they took the difficult, the courageous and the most beautiful route.
They even decided to love unconditionally, never stop and never doubt. They proudly stood together with their daughter, they never embarrass her but they revel in her individuality. It has not been easy as they travel. There have been sleepless nights, anxious moments and hurtful glances of strangers. Yet despite it all they got close. Not only did they become parents but also advocates, protectors and fierce champion of their kid.
Their story is powerful not because of the obstacles they went through but because of the way they went through them with compassion, strength, and unhesitating support. Stories such as that of Brenna remind us rather vividly how true love should be. It is not always clean or simple but it is persevering. It presents itself on a daily basis. And it does not retreat when things become tough in life.
We all occasionally need a tale of this sort to snap us back into reality on what we can accomplish. It puts something in our hearts when one person overcome a setback through love and the community. It assures us that we are able to tackle our problems, as well. That there is nothing that is too huge with just a little support, a little inspiration and a lot of heart.
There are multitudes of such stories, the story of Brenna just happens to be one of those ones which bring out the very best in humanity. It tells us that there is nothing wrong with being different and this is a gift. There is still that unconditional love. And that we can always have the strength we require, even though life appears to us as an unbearable burden, and this strength can be much nearer than we suppose: sometimes it comes in the shape of a family and sometimes in the shape of a hope.
