People called Leandro de Souza “the most tattooed man in Brazil” for years. His picture was so scary that it received a lot of attention on social media and at concerts. His body was like a living museum with more than 170 tattoos.
He went through an extremely hard moment in his life before he started the shift that he talks about with thousands of followers today. Leandro had trouble with drugs and alcohol, and at one time he didn’t have a place to live. At that time, he decided to completely change his life.

His most recent images show a face with scars that are virtually completely free of ink but look different. He adds that this process has changed him a lot, both physically and emotionally.
The tale
Leandro was born in Bagé, a village on the border between Brazil and Uruguay. When he was 13, he got his first tattoo because he loved bands like Nirvana, Guns N’ Roses, and Metallica. He thought that the tattoos across 95% of his body made him look like a rebel and a rock fan.
When he went to the Santa Rosa International Tattoo Expo, he became more well-known in the media. There, he was named Brazil’s most tattooed guy.
In 2023, his life changed route as he went on a spiritual transition. He mentioned that he went through a phase where he was addicted to a lot of drugs. In such situation, he turned to evangelical Christianity, which changed how he saw the world and himself.
“I don’t get tattoos today.” I don’t think tattoos are awful. He added, “I think there are more important things we should do after we get baptized and convert.”

Leandro informed reporters in his hometown that his looks were starting to hurt him during interviews. “I didn’t feel good; it didn’t fit me anymore.” There was too much of everything. He revealed in O Globo, admitting, “There was a moment when I felt like a performer.”
The decision to get rid of the tattoos
Leandro’s life changed after he got his tattoos erased. He got laser treatment that breaks the ink up into little bits that the body can get rid of.
He has blogged about the process on his Instagram account, which has more than 530,000 followers who are keeping up with his progress. You may also see images from a few years ago, before he started getting tattoos.
Leandro told people in interviews that he was sorry he had tattooed his face. He said in an interview, “Think carefully before getting a tattoo on your face because I regret it.”
He also mentioned that he got those tattoos for free as part of his work at the studio.

Every time, it takes him 30 to 40 minutes to get the tattoos off his face, and it’s a major physical challenge. He said, “No matter how much anesthesia they use, it hurts a lot.” The agony is awful. But that’s part of the price for the things I did in the past.”
Leandro told G1 that each session had three different kinds of lasers. He uses one type of laser to get rid of the ink, another to make the skin look younger, and a third to finish the treatment. He adds that working out helps the discomfort go away and that cold and ointments help.
His fans have helped him pay for the treatments, which is what made the process possible.

He wants to be able to take care of his 10-year-old kid and hopes to get a good job that would help him support himself and his mother, who is currently living in a nursing facility.
